By Russell Berman and Erik Wasson – House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday (10/27/11) rejected a proposal by the Democratic members of the congressional supercommittee on deficit reduction, declaring its $1.3 trillion in tax increases unacceptable.
The dueling offers came as a bipartisan group of House lawmakers was gathering support for a letter that calls for the supercommittee to exceed its charge and come up with between $4 trillion and $6 trillion in savings, said Rep.
