ATV-3 Approaches the Station
NASA – In this photo taken from the International Space Station, the European Space Agency’s Automated Transfer Vehicle-3 (ATV-3) is seen on approach for docking. The unmanned cargo spacecraft docked to the space station at 6:31 p.m. EDT on March 28, 2012.

The ATV-3 delivered 220 pounds of oxygen, 628 pounds of water, 4.5 tons of propellant and nearly 2.5 tons of dry cargo. Among other items, the station crew received experiment hardware, spare parts, food and clothing.

The six-member Expedition 30 crew adjusted its sleep schedule to accommodate the ATV-3 docking. The crew stayed up late to monitor the approach and docking.

Obama praised – and pummeled – on matters of faith

By Mitchell Landsberg – President Obama stood before an audience of distinguished Christian clergy and lay leaders and took on the mantle of pastor in chief.

“I have to be careful,” he joked at the White House‘s annual Easter prayer breakfast. “I am not going to stand up here and give a sermon. It’s always a bad idea to give a sermon in front of professionals.”

With that, he gave a sermon.

In a complaint that more secular Americans may see as hairsplitting, the president also has stirred considerable unease over his use of the term “freedom of worship” in lieu of “freedom of religion.” Conservative critics see this as evidence that Obama sees religious freedom as something confined to the relatively narrow sphere of prayer as opposed to a broader exercise of religious life. more> http://tinyurl.com/79ms63f

By Brendan Sasso – Online activists who helped sink the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) earlier this year have now turned their sights to a House cybersecurity bill, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA).

Reddit helped rally opposition to SOPA and was one of the first major websites to declare that it would black out in protest of the anti-piracy bill. The massive Web protest, which was joined by Google and Wikipedia, caused a public outcry and forced Congress to scrap the anti-piracy bill.

Kendall Burman, a senior fellow with the Center for Democracy and Technology, said her concern with the bill is really about privacy. more> http://tinyurl.com/7s2mk29

Famed boys’ club feels the heat

By Lawrence Donegan – How on earth could the club promote ”growth” while at the same time denying half of the world’s population the opportunity to become members? ”That is a membership issue and I’m not going to … thank you for your question, sir,” the club chairman replied.

The issue was not Augusta National‘s membership policies, but its hypocrisy. Augusta club’s chairman, Billy Payne is a powerful man who is unused to being confronted by such uncomfortable truths, especially in the comfort of his own exclusive club. But since Wednesday’s (Apr 4, 2012) press conference the mood music had started to change, and not just because of the presidential intervention. more> http://tinyurl.com/6sopjvl
